Chinook Enterprises Employment Services Staff provides training and follow-up services that are tailored to each situation and individual.
One-on-One Job Coaching
With the maximum support possible, our job trainers work with the employees on their job tasks to ensure that the quality and speed requirements are met. This can be a fairly intensive process at the beginning, but support levels decrease as the job is learned.
Coworker Support Development
Chinook works with businesses on creating positive coworker relationships by training the staff to support workers we refer in the most effective way. Teaching coworkers and building upon existing environmental supports increases the speed that the individual becomes independent. That translates directly to their success on the job. The supports people need are minimal in most cases, usually something as simple as reminding the worker of break times and the end of their shift.
Accommodation
Our Employment Services Staff develops tools and techniques to allow individuals with varying degrees of skills to complete the essential functions of their jobs. Such accommodations are often minor and are implemented with the cooperation of the employer in the most cost-effective method possible. These accommodations make the jobs easier for the employee.
Follow-up Services
Once the employee is successfully working independently, Chinook staff stays in contact with the employer on any needs that might arise. We are available to facilitate solutions by providing retraining as necessary, evaluation of performance, and continued identification of accommodation needs. This service is tailored to the individual needs of both the worker and the employer.
